Minneapolis Saint Paul has recently emerged into the spotlight as a cultural boomtown, winning accolades from around the globe for its museums, arts and theater communities.

If you are a theater buff you’ve come to the right place. There are 75 professional theaters that call Minneapolis Saint Paul home and the metro has more theater seats per capita than any other U.S. city outside of New York.
You’ll have a chance to sample all that the Minneapolis Saint Paul arts and entertainment community has to offer when you first arrive. Spark24, a non-stop marathon of free entertainment, kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. and goes until Sunday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. at Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis.
No Minnesota summer is complete without a trip to the Minnesota State Fair. Attracting more than a million visitors every year, the State Fair offers a mix of animals, arts and crafts, games, rides and live music. And be sure to sample the State Fair tradition: every food you can imagine on a stick. The Minnesota State Fair runs Aug. 21 through Sept. 1.
Minneapolis is home to two Tony Award-winning theaters – the Guthrie Theater and the Children’s Theater Company.
